We are a team of property management and service professionals who all traded the cityscapes of Columbus, Ohio for the red rocks, hoping to build a unique and spectacular destination for high-desert adventurers. Desert Bloom is owned and operated on-site by four partners dedicated to blending modern hospitality with the rugged beauty of Kanab, Utah. Whether you’re here for the slot canyons, national parks, or a quiet night under the stars, we’re on the ground to make sure your stay is seamless.
Michael Hatem
Michael is a co-founder of MGH Hospitality and Desert Bloom, leading operations for a portfolio of 30+ units across Columbus, OH and Kanab, UT. Michael holds extensive managerial experience in the food service industry and is a thoughtful customer service expert. You will often find Michael greeting guests on-site at Desert Bloom, going above and beyond to ensure every need is met. With a widespread background in carpentry, remodeling, and general contracting, Michael is a true jack-of-all-trades. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.
Griffin Hill
Griffin is a lifelong entrepreneur and visionary. As a Co-Founder of MGH Hospitality and Desert Bloom, he leads the daily team on all operational levels. Griffin is a modern hospitality savant, excelling in STR platform optimization, SEO strategy, and business innovation. Beyond the logistics, he has dedicated himself to the creative arts, earning his bachelors in Filmmaking Practices from Arizona State University at the age of 20. He now applies that same creative eye to the rugged aesthetics of the Utah desert, ensuring Desert Bloom is as visually stunning as it is operationally seamless.
Madison Grose
Madison is the lead founder of Desert Bloom Cafe, our campground’s on-site coffee shop. She has crafted a food and beverage menu with global influence drawn from her travels to over 20 countries. Madison also brings several years of hospitality management experience to the team as the design and furnishing lead for MGH Hospitality. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science from The Ohio State University. An animal lover, hiking enthusiast, and avid reader, Madison is most at home exploring the red rock trails of Kanab with a great book, or spoiling her cat Archie, whom she adopted from the streets of Greece!
Rebecca Mccallister
Rebecca is the most experienced foodservice expert within the Desert Bloom group of founders. With over 10 years in the service industry, she holds an unparalleled skillset in face-to-face customer care and restaurant operations. As a Co-Founder and the Front of House Lead for Desert Bloom Cafe, Rebecca elevates the standards for the entire property with meticulous attention to detail and white-glove service. Whether she is managing cafe operations or overseeing guest stays, Rebecca’s mission is to ensure that every visitor to the high desert receives a world-class hospitality experience. She is also a diehard Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey Fan!
